Help Portrait is an annual event at which students from the King University Digital Media Art & Design program, along with the Art & Design Club, provide free family portraits for families who might not otherwise be able to afford them.
The past event in Fall of 2023, marked the 12th year of the Help Portrait event and we were able to make images for 21 families. Every family received a framed 5 x 7 inch photograph, a flash drive of images, Christmas cards, and more. Donations from local businesses such as Chick-Fil-A, Food City, Blackbird Bakery, and King University food services provided free food and refreshments for the participating families while they waited for their appointment time and images to be printed.

What To Expect
After signing up using the form below, families will receive an email or phone call to confirm their time slot. Families should show up to the event area on the top floor of the library a few minutes before their chosen time slot using the upper parking lot or walking through the library. Families will first come to a table of greeters that will confirm the appointment time and will need wait in the main hallway until the time slot.
At or near the group’s time slot, a volunteer will lead the family to their photographer. After the images are taken, the families will be led back to the hallway to wait for their images to be edited and for their image to be printed and framed, which averages about 30 mins. Families may also enjoy the library and come back to pick up the free, framed print and images.

How To Sign Up
To sign up for this year’s Help Portrait event on Saturday, Nov 23 from 10 – 4 pm on the top floor of the Bristol Public Library, please complete the form below using the following instructions once the form becomes available a few weeks before the event date:
- Start by clicking NEXT on the form below.
- Choose from the time slots available on the next page. Please only one-time slot per family. (The form should automatically move to the next section once a time is chosen.)
- On the next page, fill out your contact information and how many will be joining you. Click NEXT to confirm your time.
- You should see a confirmation message that your time is confirmed. A confirmation email has been sent to the email address provided. If you don’t receive a confirmation email, check the junk / spam folder of your email. If you don’t have an email from us, please email HLJones@King.Edu with your name and time slot and we will get you on the list.
