King students once again played a large role in the success of the annual Bristol Rhythm and Roots Reunion music festival this year. With a large crew of motivated students the King Photo Team executed three different roles. The largest crew of students photographed the festival using cell phones to immediately upload images onto social media which were often reposted by the Birthplace of Country Music who organizes the event. Another crew assisted the professional video recording group Live and Breathing who recorded intimate sessions with various bands from the festival. The third crew of King photogs, led by professor Lee Jones, photographed bands before or after recording with Live and Breathing in the historic storefront of the L.C. King Manufacturing building. The entire weekend was a fun and challenging real world application to the knowledge the students have been gaining in class.
Nick Corrigan from Live and Breathing had this to say:
“The students from King University helped us capture some great performances. Their hard work and enthusiasm made the bands feel at ease and made our work that much more enjoyable. It is refreshing to see the thrill of students having an one of their first impactful ‘real world’ experience.”
